There Is Life After Survival: Jailbird

Caught in the seams of the way the

people scream,

And I’m so taut

Tightly wound around the stake

Stuck permanently

in the Earth.

What I wish most

is to live on the moon,

I’ll see you there soon.

Soon you’ll see what I see

That this is not what it’s

meant to be; there’s more.

Maybe I haven’t

figured it all out yet

and maybe it’s no time to trust

But even if you don’t

Trust me,

believe in the sea…

Believe in the air

Believe in the connections you feel

When you’re far from here.

Because it’s better to believe

in the unchanging world

than to believe in people that

Forever break our hearts.

Let the wind kiss your

cheeks, and let

The soil cool your

feet, and find within you

The power to be free.

Find your center;

Expand it.

Let yourself grow with thoughts of

Invincible mornings

And be forever in your

Dawn.
